Description: Because of the structure of the Chiquita contract, Rift Valley was unable to sell any of its Class A bananas when producing under 30-containers per week to Chiquita. So, forced to find alternatives. Contacted many but ended up contracting with the Arjomandi Group in Iran. Every week paid based on shipments and not receipt of goods, which helped the project immensely. In 2013, new contract negotiated with Dole.

Concluded Rift Valley Corporation had too many other projects, believed that for the project to succeed, at least 80% needed to be grown by Rift Valley, so questionable commercial viability selling commodity-priced pineapple concentrate into the competitive global marketplace and without the standard pineapple canning/value-added factory set-up to maximize recoveries.
